Part Description:
The P-901/P-900 pump head uses these Inert Oligopilot 100ml PTFE seals. The Akta Oligopilot fully automated system for synthesis of DNA and RNA oligonucleotides requires 4 of the seals when performing the instrument maintenance. When replacing the seal be careful not to break the piston. The piston can be fragile at this instant will break if dropped. The Inert Oligopilot 100ml PTFE seals kit contains (2) Carbon PTFE pump seals and (2) seal wash diaphragms. Our part number for this item is KDT-AMS-8502-N. The Akta Oligopilot system used to automate synthesis protocols for various synthesis scales manufactured by Amersham Pharmacia, GE, or Cytiva. To ease the combining of the standard and custom methods the steps in a synthesis cycle are modularized into separate method blocks.
The Inert 100ml seals are Carbon PTFE filled seals with a greater chemical compatible with mobile phases equally important it is not recommended to use these seals with high or strong acids. KayDee Tek is now offering their customers and users this new seal set. The inert PTFE seals are replaced in the same manner as the UHMW pump seals. As part of your instrument preventive maintenance pump seals should be replaced regularly.
Did you know?
To prevent mobile phase from leaking past the worn seals, regular maintenance of your pumps should be performed. Thier is a total of 4 pump heads in a typical system. When the diaphragms start to fail, they will not wash the pump piston. This can cause the mobile phase to build up on the piston and ruin the pump piston seals.
The Akta Oligopilot system is a leading system used by chemists although this may be true, a fundamental knowledge of oligosynthesis chemistry is required. KayDee Tek offers many repair and replacement parts. KayDee Tek as a result continues to develop new parts for the Akta series fast protein liquid chromatography systems. Next year a newly designed flow cell will be released for the UV-900 detector in the Akta Explorer, Purifier, and Oligopilot.
