100ml seals Carbon-PTFE KDT-AMS-8578-N

Description

This set of four 100ml seals Carbon-PTFE KDT-AMS-8578-N are used in the pump head of the P-900 pump. The P-900 pump is part of the Akta Oligo Pilot FPLC systems. When replacing this part be careful not to break the pistons, they can be fragile. The 100ml seals Carbon-PTFE KDT-AMS-8578-N contains (4) Carbon PTFE pump seals and (4) seal wash diaphragms. Similar to our part number KDT-AMS-7300-N with the yellow UHMW seals replaced with the Carbon PTFE seals. Our part number for this item is KDT-AMS-8578-N. They are used in Akta Oligo Pilot Fast Protein Liquid Chromatography systems manufactured by Amersham Pharmacia, GE, or Cytiva.

The Carbon PTFE filled seals have a greater chemical compatible with mobile phases. However, it is not recommended to use them with high or strong acids. This seal is a new seal KayDee Tek is offering their customers and users. These seals are replaced in the same manner as the regular pump seals. Pump seals should be replaced regularly as part of your instrument preventive maintenance.

Pump seals should be replaced to prevent mobile phase from leaking past the worn seals. When the diaphragms start to fail, they will not wash the pump piston. This can cause the mobile phase to build up on the piston and ruin the pump piston seals.
